What is the Krewe of Blues?
The Krewe of Blues is a social organization (501c) that participates together for Carnival season (and beyond). Our Krewe was formed in 2010 and we first began parading with a float in 2011. Our signature event is the Annual Pin and Bead Festival and Diaper Drive. We have regular general membership meetings on a monthly basis with other mission meetings as needed. Krewe of Blues prides ourselves on our versatile member base including people who are male, female, young, old, native and transplant. Our membership runs from June to May.
Cost to be a member and benefits?
Regular Membership – Dues are $275 for new members and $225 for renewing members. With Regular Membership, you plan to attend most of our events and parades.
Membership includes the following:
- Access to Krewe events throughout the year.
- Access to all parades.
- Annual Krewe of Blues Ball ticket.
Is membership refundable?
Membership is non-refundable. Budgeting for our krewe begins almost an entire year before the actual parades, and our organization pays a number of fees year-round in order to operate: float maintenance, permits from the city, deposits on venues, administrative fees (we could go on and on); therefore, we’re unable to refund any money already spent throughout the year as it progresses toward parade day.

Application Process:
- Express interest in joining via the form below.
- Fill out and return application with initial dues to the Krewe of Blues.
- Finally be accepted by the Krewe of Blues.
Acceptance:
New member acceptance is determined on the basis of how many membership slots we have available and the proposed new member’s date of application. We are looking for members who will be active participants in our activities, take leadership roles in our organization, and enjoy the festivities! The membership selection process is administered by the membership committee in accordance with our bylaws and membership is not final until Board approval.
